About Me

I have been painting for over 25 years, yet I feel like I’m just starting to pick up speed. Horses have always been my big inspiration, but anything that catches my eye is in danger of ending up in paint.

I spend many a weekend at equine events taking hundreds of photos with my poor, old beat up workhorse of a digital camera. When I’m not able to get out to events, I’m planning paintings, sketching out ideas or setting up still life’s. Then there’s the time actually spent painting, which feels like the dessert after the meat and potatoes that get me to the point where I can finally slather paint on canvas.

All this must dance around my part time job as a veterinary technician. It’s a job I’ve always loved, and keeps me from becoming an antisocial hermit of an artist. Being someone who loves animals, I benefit a lot from all the time working with them.

While I don’t have any horses at this time, I do have other critters I love and care for. They include an artist husband, a teenage daughter and son, three dogs, a rabbit, and a 29 cent, 7 year old goldfish named Skid who will soon be big enough to eat us all.

In a nutshell, my life is never dull, nor do I have any clue what boredom feels like. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
