Personal Art Instruction now available!
I am now offering personal art instruction in drawing and painting, starting in August! Whether you’re a beginner, have a youngster that loves to draw, or would like to build on what you’ve already mastered; you can schedule a session with me in my studio (with other location options possible) starting this August!
I’m also currently teaching art classes at Michael’s with more serious workshops coming in Oro Valley and the Madella Vina Ranch on the eastside of Tucson this fall!

This is a 22 x 28 original oil portrait of American Pharoah. The classy bay race horse is the 2015 Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes), Breeder’s Cup… and thus the first ever Grand Slam winner… and the cherry on top, 2015 Horse of
This noble pose with a serene expression is a natural for this gentle but statuesque Thoroughbred. His nature is as kind as his racing game is fierce, and for fans around the country he was so many prayers answered, the second coming (or twelfth) of something most were starting to think would never happen, the horse to finally become Triple Crown winner #12 after a 37 year drought.
“The Horse of Course”
I was honored to have a total of 11 of my pieces in this wonderful local show. And one piece, “Transcendent Bond”, a 36″ x 48″ oil, was both sold and voted Best in Show during the Opening Reception (below)!

Woodford Reserve 2015 Commerative Derby Bottle Artist
Woodford Reserve Bourbon, the “Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby” for 17 years and primary ingredient of the Derby’s signature drink, the mint julep,, is crafted at the historic Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky in the heart of thoroughbred country. Every year they produce a limited edition bottle just for the Derby with original artwork commissioned just for that bottle, and guess who was commissioned to create the 2015 bottle!
And of course my blog post once I could announce the great news…
